SC09- Faithful Heart

I spent a while last night checking out my Stampin’ Up! catalog, going through my {ippity} stamps, and I decided to go for this set.  I just love the flowers and while the sentiment isn’t scripture, it isn’t anti-scriptural either… it’s a poetic representation of it… sort of.

Ok, here’s the original sketch… I went for a literal representation of it this time.  I had considered a couple of different things, but in the end, I wanted simple.

Now, how did I do it, you ask?  Well, I’ll tell you!

Ingredients

Stamps- Faith Blooms by {ippity}

InkSU Soft Suede, Versamark, &  SU Sahara Sand

Paper- SU Old Olive & October Afternoon– either this or this, and SU Naturals Ivory

Accessories- None!

Tools- Steak Knife, EK Success PunchStamp-a-ma-jig, Martha Stewart Colored Pencils

Adhesive- ATG tape, SU Dimensionals

Ok, first I cut the card base and adhered the designer paper to it.  I cut the designer paper about 3/8″ smaller than the card front I think.  Then I cut the larger rectangle, roughed up the edges with a steak knife, and then sponged the edges with Sahara Sand.

Then I took the designer graph paper and cut the smaller rectangle.  I always measure the stamp width and length and then add a half an inch or so.   Yes, my cards get only the best… DESIGNER graph paper.  Ok, actually, it just happened to be in the paper pack with the green dots or I would have pulled out the real thing.  Snort.  I took the cone flower and stamped it into Versamark onto the Naturals Ivory paper.  You can barely see it, but it’s cool.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to get the sentiment just right and stamped it in the Soft Suede.  I stamped the tall flower onto the graph paper and then onto the ivory.  I colored the ivory with colored pencils, cut it out, and layered it a bit off kiltered onto the graph paper so that it’d look kind of shadowed.

There you have it.  What do you think?
