Hearth Key-pers

This was a simple ornament idea for our ornament exchange on my message board. Since we’re “Hearth Keepers” I liked the play on words. I had another idea for it, but since it was taking… FOREVER… I decided to do those ornaments for next year, working on them ALL YEAR before that so that they’re done in October. Yes, I am going to be on the ball if it kills me. Please put that on my tombstone– “She killed herself doing it, but she was on the ball.”

Sounds like I was an exercise fiend. Good thing no one would fall for THAT.

So, I found these cool keys at a local gift shop. Bought a box of 10. Added the fireplace for the “Hearth” and voila. I just stamped on cream in Soft Suede and then antiqued the heck out of ’em.

Ingredients:

Stamps: Elzybells Boy and Stocking (I kind of performed a boy-ectomy to make it work
Paper: SU Artichoke, PTI Cream, SU Cherry Cobbler scraps
Ink: SU Soft Suede, SU Close to Cocoa, SU More Mustard, SU Sahara Sand
Accessories: Amuse red buttons, SU Seam binding in artichoke and cobbler and SU cream lace– a key (Which was key to the project, I assure you), oh and Nestabilites labels 10
Techniques: Antiquing the heck out of it….
