Drive by Greeting:

chautona-card65Yeah… the title leaves something to be desired. It’s better than the original, though. I went for “Drive By Birthing…” Ahem. I don’t think so.
I saw this plaid and HAD to use this truck with it. I don’t know why. Who knows what this crazy brain of mine is thinking half the time?

This is one of the cards for my readers, but I still only made two due to lack of enough plaid for more.. The other one I tried to make a “woman of color.” I chose a bad brown, but she still looks pretty good. I need to work on my darker toned coloring skills.

I do have a problem with the sentiment. It’s not very clear and I stamped it nice and crisp. I think they tried to fit too much on one little stamp.

chautona-card64I’ve been dying to use this snail for ages. Doesn’t he just scream, “I’m taking my sweet time to get you your birthday card?” What a perfect way to pin the blame on something cute instead of me! *cough*

Okay, so these are actually going to readers who signed up for my birthday card program just a day or two late for their birthday month. I just had to use this stamp, so I used it as an excuse to send theirs out this year. WOOT!

Stamps: Paper and Such Snail & SU Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper: SU Pear and Daffodil and PTI Orange. Amuse gingham. Neenah
Paper Size: A2 (4.25 x 5.5″)
Ink: Memento (snail) & Versafine (sentiment)
Accessories: Grosgrain ribbon
Techniques: Watercolor pencils

Skye’s the Limit

chautona-card51 chautona-card52I fell in love with this horse, and Janice was kind enough to share a couple of images with me. Good for the company, because I’m absolutely buying this stamp. First the goat, now the horse–she’s building my stamp farm quite nicely all by herself.
I’m in the middle of building a HUGE stockpile of birthday cards, so this was one of the first batch. I love it. The tag pulls out and works as a bookmark. 🙂
Stamps: It was a RAK from Janice–Serendipity, I think. Sentiment is PTI Birthday–something.
Paper: PTI blue and smokey shadow–DP from MME
Paper Size: A2 (5.5 x 4.25)
Ink: Memento? and Unity Pallette
Accessories: Ribbon, string, SU chevron ribbon, Modern label punch, word window punch, brads, Tag punch, but not the kitchen sink.
Techniques: Copic Marker–“deadening” (making it look “dead”)

SC290- Have a TREEmendous Birthday

chautona-SC290I was dinking around in the gallery a week or so ago… just checking out what’s there and such like when I ran across this card.

Insta-love. I mean, this is one gorgemous card. I decided right then to play with the idea myself. Then I noticed it was a sketch challenge and I was only a couple of cards away from that one. SCORE!

Look, I know it’s not right. I’m not supposed to layer it that way, but I had trouble making it work. So this is good enough this time. Maybe next time we’ll have something else. I think my stamp was too long. I needed something narrower or something. I don’t know. The point is, I like it. Clean, crisp… it has a lot of work in it and yet it doesn’t. It looks complicated but it isn’t.

And oh so perfect with that banner. I’m jazzed.

Stamps: SU “Lovely as a Tree”
Paper: SU Naturals and Artichoke
Ink: SU Artichoke and Unity Pallette black
Accessories: Spellbinders banners
Techniques: fudging. Note: it does nothing for chocolate cravings

I Drew Names!

It took forever to figure out how to do it but I’ve got the first five winners!!!  WHEW!

So here we go!

Cards 1-50:  Susan
Cards 51-100: Lori
Cards 101-150: Kristi
Cards 151-200: Challice
Cards 201-250: Cari

So, please email me your addresses and I’ll be sending you the cards.  It is POSSIBLE (not probable) that one of the cards in that set won’t be there.  IF IT ISN’T I will add another card to make up for its absence (I know that at least 2 out of 267 cards accidentally got used!)
